 Bringing glass and silver together! This pendant class will teach you to use a variety of techniques to capture a dichroic cabochon of your choice with silver metal clay bezels, snakes and other shapes as accents. Learn how to work the metal clay, set your dichroic cabs, fire, polish and patina your pieces.  Please note that because all glass needs to cool slowly after firing students will need to return the following day to polish and patina their finished pieces.

Skill Level: Open to all

 Capture your dreams and secrets between textured metal covers and wear them close to your heart.   Inside is a resin coated page of dreams.   This class will show you how to work with metal in a new way.   Cutting, rolling textures, stamping, using micro screws as cold connections, and making jump rings are all handy techniques to learn if you like mixed media jewelry.  Learn to use resin to capture images and small objects on a printed page inside and finish it off with richly colored reclaimed sari silk and chain.

Why the sale you ask?  Because we’ve run out of room.  We’ve been so inspired by our students we just can’t stop creating. Our trays and inventory is literally overflowing and we want to make room for it all.  Plus we thought we’d give you a great chance to pick up a couple pieces for the design challenge.  You still have until the end of this month to submit your pieces!  A $75 gift certificate would be a nice way to pick some new treasures!

Also happening this weekend are classes in Havana and Orlando! On Saturday Paula will be visiting Lizette’s Great Beadginnings in Havana, FL and teaching a wonderful beginner’s metal clay class and her super fun cold connect rings class.  I know that seats are filling quick so if you’d like to come play give Lizette’s a call or just stop in and we’ll make a space for you!  Then on Sunday we’re back at The Beading Boutique with our last chance lentil class for everyone whose been asking for it.  Students will make a 2 sided hollow lentil pendant in PMC!  This is the last chance for this class until July or August so get it while its hot!

We’re very excited about our new line of super soft and pliable leather cording and the HOT HOT HOT and trending Regaliz leather too.  Paula and I have also been having great fun using our newest line of Vintaj patinas.  All I can say is that they are a must have for any artist working in metals.  So much fun and sooo many different ways to use them.  Seriously, you’ll spend days just playing!

Saturday March 31st 11:30-3

Silver Soldering Basics Skill Level: Open to all Fee: $45 plus $30 (sterling) Kit Max students: 5

Learning to solder will add another dimension to your jewelry making skills.   In this class we will practice the technique of soldering sterling silver jump rings together using paste solder and a micro torch to create your own sterling silver bracelet.  Learn about torches & safety, flux, pickling, and the different types of solder available.  After you complete your soldering, learn how to smooth your joints, tumble and polish your piece. This technique can also be used to make your own custom chain or do quick and easy repairs on your jewelry.

Saturday March 31st 3-6 Molded Bronze Pendant & Earrings
Skill Level: Open to all
Fee: $85

This class combines the fun and ease of bronze metal clay with 2 part mold making.  You get to choose from a variety of vintage buttons to create your own rubber mold.  When the mold is ready we’ll use bronze clay and your mold to make a beautiful  pendant and earrings.  You’ll learn all you need to know to work and fire bronze clay as well as make molds of your favorite found objects.

Hollow Lentil Focal Skill Level: Open to all Fee: $65 plus $20 kit Max students: 5

Another great way to try out PMC or learn a new skill!  Find out what PMC is all about as you make this 2-sided hollow lentil bead. Learn how to make the incredibly popular and
stylish ladder bracelets. In this class we’ll be creating a cuff-style bracelet
using thunder polish crystal, pewter and waxed cotton cord. Once you know the
technique the sky is the limit. Make multi-wrap Chan-Luu style bracelets,
anklets & necklaces! Kits are $7-10 each. Additional supplies available for
purchase in class to make more.

~3:30-6:30 What’s Your Inspiration Pendant

Skill Level: Open to all.  Fee: $65 + clay.
This fun pendant is a great intro to metal clay.
We’ll show you how to roll, texture and shape each piece, add inspirational
words of your choice, drill holes and then sand and prep for firing in a kiln.
When it’s done we’ll tumble, polish and patina the pieces, and assemble the
finished pendant! Show off this fun pure silver pendant or give it as a gift to
someone you love!!

~Wire Chan-Luu Style Cuff – 12-3, 3:30-6:30

Learn to make these trendy bracelets using wire! In this class we’ll be creating a cuff-style bracelet using thunder
polish crystal, pewter and artistic wire.

Skill level: Open to all. Fee: $35 plus kit.
Welcome to cold connections! In this beginner class you’ll learn how to use hole
punching, riveting, hammering, metal stamping and wire techniques along with inexpensive
materials such as nickel silver, copper and wire to create your own unique cold
connect pendant.
